Air Force Institute of Technology: Analysis of Information Needs and Capabilities

by Alan Heminger, David Gaines, Gordon Geison, Jeffrey Hennes, Heather Adams

Publisher: Storming Media
ISBN: 1423577833

Book Summary:
This is a AIR FORCE INST OF TECH WRIGHT-PATTERSON AFB OH SCHOOL OF LOGISTICS AND ACQUIS ITION MANAGEMENT report procured by the Pentagon and made available for public release. It has been reproduced in the best form available to the Pentagon. It is not spiral-bound, but rather assembled with Velobinding in a soft, white linen cover. The Storming Media report number is A714013. The abstract provided by the Pentagon follows: The objective of this project was to provide recommendations to the AFIT Commandant regarding AFlT's information systems and information management practices to help the Commandant respond quickly and accurately to internal management and external advocacy information requests. The scope of this project was constrained in three ways: (1) Limit analysis to processes that satisfy the Commandant's information requests (ad hoc or periodic), (2) Consider only AFIT directorates and schools as information sources, and (3) Exclude day-to-day operations of AFIT directorates and schools unless they have a direct bearing on the Commandant's information needs. The systems analysis and design team also noted that any recommendations would need to be compatible with Air University (AU) and Air Education and Training Command (AETO) information and system architectures.
