Book Summary:
Protein PA2021 of
Pseudomonas aeruginosa
, a target of the Northeast Structural Genomics Consortium (NESGC; http://www.nesg.org; NESGC target ID: PaT85) was selected for NMR structural determination. A new established protocol of NMR data collection and analysis for high-throughput structural determination was applied. The NMR data collection is based on G-Matrix Fourier transform (GFT) NMR which reduces the time required for data acquisition by orders of magnitude. Using GFT NMR and new analysis protocol, the high quality NMR structure of PA2021 was obtained. Comparison of the 3D structure with known protein structures suggests that the fold of PA2021 may represent a new SCOP family.
