Biography:
I was born October 25, 1955 in Sorsogon, a province in the Southern Luzon island of the Philippines. I graduated college in Bicol University (1976) and completed MBA in Philippine School of Business Administration (1995).
I have been teaching part-time Marketing at De la Salle University in Dasmarinas, Cavite, Philippines, some 12 kilometers from where we live for 17 years now. While it modestly augments my income, I find teaching a more rewarding experience for it reconnected me to the world of active learning.
I am blessed with a loving family, with my wife Judy and children Albert Nonoy, Aileen and Allain, all grown up and college graduates, ages 24, 23 and 21, respectively. They remain to be my source of joy and eternal power.
I feel that putting my brain in constant motion, as a knowledge worker, is also the best antidote to aging. I can very well say that I am hale and hearty, though with sometimes aching joints. I always wake up in the morning feeling renewed and willing to take another day's challenge. Since my duty of taking my children to school in the early morning was done (when my youngest finished college) I am trying to catch up on my physical regimen to regain the mass and volume of my sagging muscle--and keep my heart in good shape. I have also been particular about my diet and my cholesterol levels.
My regular job is actually with the Philippine National Bank where I am now going 28 years of uninterrupted service. I started as a clerk in Sorsogon Branch, one of its branches. Now I am tasked with a Senior Manager position for marketing communications.
My love for writing brought me from the frontline customer service to support marketing communications function 17 years ago.
It is my love for writing that I take a keen interest in pursuing yet another career, that is, a medical transcription career. My interest in this career is bolstered by the opportunity it offers. A good pay and home office. I find working at home a fantastic idea considering the rising cost of gas in our country, the traffic which eats a lot of our energy and time, and a chance to savor the sweet scent of fresh air in our neighborhood.
