Wolters Kluwer Health Launches .Net Edition of Drug Information Bridge to Provide Access to Medi-Span Drug Database

DIB v2.1 Offers Medical Industry an Easy Way to Program Files or Data and Gain Intelligence to Make Better Clinical Decisions.
PHILADELPHIA -- Wolters Kluwer Health, the leading drug information provider, today announced the launch of the .Net edition of its Drug Information Bridge (DIB) Version 2.1. To reduce application development expenses, DIB v2.1 is offered as a .Net application programming interface (API), which can be easily linked to a healthcare organization's existing drug information and clinical content, offering healthcare professionals access to Medi-Span's popular family of drug information databases.

With access to Medi-Span's drug descriptive data, prices, image/imprint information and clinical data, this new version of DIB will aid in streamlining the workflow process and increasing patient safety. The DIB v2.1 .Net edition offers users incremental updates while also incorporating Facts and Comparisons reference information.

"We are pleased to announce the release of the Drug Information Bridge v2.1 .Net edition, which works seamlessly with our existing Medi-Span systems," says Ken Killion, CEO of Wolters Kluwer Health's Clinical Tools business unit. "As the industry's most complete source of current, clinically relevant drug information, this new version will offer customers the ability to program files or data, which will provide intelligence that helps medical professionals make better clinical decisions."

DIB v2.1 is integrated with the Medi-Span Foundation Library, which allows customers to incorporate other Medi-Span API products including Medication Order Management Database (MOMD), Drug Dosing and Administration Database (DDAD) and Drug Facts & Comparisons (DFC). By offering a choice of technologies, this enhanced version can work with multiple platforms, operating systems, development tools and relational databases.
