A4 Health Systems Unveils New Products at HIMSS

2005 Marks Enhanced Products for Operational Efficiency and Cost Savings.
DALLAS and CARY, N.C. -- A4 HEALTH SYSTEMS(R), a leading provider of health care IT solutions, will demonstrate the latest features of HealthMatics(R) Office 2005, a full-circle, patient information management solution, and HealthMatics ED(R) and EmSTAT Emergency Department Information Systems (EDIS) at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) annual conference. The new products are a result of ongoing product development and represent A4's commitment to providing its clients the most advanced health care information technology within its software and service solutions.

automation for physicians' practices
- HealthMatics ED 5.0 is the most comprehensive Emergency Department
Information System for streamlining patient registration, triage,
tracking, nursing and physician charting, disposition, charge capture
and reporting
- EmSTAT is the most widely used Emergency Department Information System
among the top 1,000 hospitals in the country.

HealthMatics Office 2005


Physicians are not merely moving toward electronic medical records (EMRs); they are looking to upgrade to a full office solution with unified practice management and EMR systems. HealthMatics Office 2005 provides that solution. Among its new features are:


- Patient Registration - Patients enter registration information at a
kiosk in the waiting room or via a secure Web connection prior to the
encounter
- Electronic Eligibility Solution - Automatically processes, retains and
displays HIPAA compliant ANSI ASC X.12 270/271 eligibility information
in the Appointment Management Module.
- Electronic Claim Status - Automatically process, retains and displays
HIPAA compliant ANSI ASC X.12 277 Claim Status information directly in
the Insurance Collections Management Module.
- E-prescribe - Refill requests can be generated at the pharmacy and
electronically sent to the physician's desktop, while outbound refill
approvals and new prescriptions can be electronically transmitted
directly to the pharmacy
- Problem Explorer - Immediate access from anywhere within the
documentation process to all active problems and associated orders.

HealthMatics ED 5.0

HealthMatics ED 5.0 is the most comprehensive EDIS for streamlining patient registration, triage, tracking, nursing and physician charting, disposition, charge capture and reporting. Enhanced features include:


- Chart Builder - Customized chart output based on recipient's needs
(such as primary care physician) that can be defined by the hospital or
recipient level. Includes seven variations of predefined chart output
formats and endless customized options.
- Order Management/Order Sets - New features include a management screen
to view and execute multiple orders on a single patient as well as
flexible order sets to better meet needs of clinicians and further
streamline process of ordering tests, x-rays, etc.
- Facility E&M Scoring - Enhanced E&M scoring automatically calculates
facility-based scoring for nursing documentation
- Diagnosis-Related Discharge Instructions - Enhanced disposition process
with new features such as diagnosis-related discharge instructions.

EMSTAT

The addition of Physician Documentation to EmSTAT elevates the product to full-functionality, rounding out modules that streamline registration, tracking, triage, nurse charting, disposition, charge capture and reporting. General availability of Physician Documentation is expected mid-year.


- Records Entry - Automatic incorporation of past medical history from
previous visits
- Discharge Orders - Prompted entry of discharge planning including
discharge instructions, prescriptions and plans for follow-up care
- Patient Safety - Drug/Drug and Drug/Allergy Interaction checking using
the First Databank Database(R)
- Snomed CT(R) compliant.
