MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA -- Axolotl Corporation, a leading provider of health information management products and services, has established a new division to continue its growth in revenue cycle management, medical record automation, and process improvement within hospital HIM departments. The new HIM Consulting Division combines the expertise of some of the nation's top RHIA professionals with Axolotl's established technology and implementation skills. The combination enables clients to use Axolotl's personnel for executive negotiation and practical administration and their project management skills to more rapidly gain the benefits associated with the introduction of new information systems or processes.
Led by Merlene Rodgers, president of the Colorado Health Information Management Association (CHIMA), the HIM Consulting Division was formed to meet the growing market demand for managing the introduction of electronic transcription and medical records systems and the process changes that ensue. "Axolotl has the technology, infrastructure, and system specialists to help hospitals benefit from new technologies. We have recruited the best HIM professionals in the field to help our clients manage the change," said Rodgers.
"We have been helping customers with operational redesign, outsourcing, information technology implementation, and revenue cycle management," said Thea Campbell, RHIA, senior consultant and system implementation expert for Axolotl. "The formation of the new division recognizes the market need, demonstrates Axolotl's commitment to the wider issues of health information management, and validates our performance to date."
Axolotl's HIM Consulting Division is successfully filling interim HIM director positions and has staffed consultants for HIM process redesign, revenue cycle analysis, and document imaging projects. "I'm excited about the team that we have put together," says Glenn Keet, vice president of professional services at Axolotl. "Our combined expertise is proving that we can address real customer needs in a practical manner. Axolotl is very well positioned to play a significant role in the industry's evolution to electronic health records."
