KLAS Year-End Report Rates 20 McKesson Solutions in Top Three for Their Product Categories

Horizon Clinicals Products Achieve Significant Gains With Medical Imaging Named Best in KLAS and Pharmacy Designated One of the "Most Improved"
ATLANTA, GA -- Reflecting a strong company focus on customer satisfaction and the use of technology to make healthcare safer, 20 McKesson products were rated in the top three for their categories in the "Top 20: 2005 Best in KLAS" year-end report issued by KLAS Enterprises, Inc. Two McKesson solutions received Best in KLAS ratings -- Horizon Medical Imaging™ (community sector) and the combination of Pathways Materials Management™ and Pathways Financial Management™, which was rated No. 1 in the financial/ERP category for the third straight year. Three products were named Specialty Niche Category Leaders -- ROBOT-Rx®, EC2000™ Claims Administrator and Horizon Hospice™.

Products from McKesson's market-leading Horizon Clinicals® suite achieved significant gains this year, with the combination of Horizon Expert Orders™ clinical decision support and Horizon Expert Documentation™ moving into the No. 2 slot for the acute-care clinical data repository (CDR), orders and charting category. Survey respondents gave high ratings to "executive interest in customers," and 95% said they would buy again. Ninety-four percent of respondents said they would recommend the products to a friend or peer. Since the "Top 20: 2005 Mid-Year Report Card," scores for Horizon Meds Manager™ improved by more than 8% and 9% in the large and small pharmacy markets, respectively. McKesson's medication management system achieved a No. 2 overall performance rating for both small and large pharmacy systems and was listed by KLAS as one of the "Most Improved" products in 2005.

"We are thrilled with McKesson's performance in the KLAS reports because it reflects our laser focus on customers and our progress in helping them to implement technology that's designed to make healthcare safer," said Pamela Pure, president of McKesson Provider Technologies. "As a Fortune 15 company, we have both the power and the commitment to build customer relationships that last a lifetime. This year's survey results demonstrate that our customers are confident they can count on McKesson for strong personalized services and industry-leading solutions that yield results."

McKesson's medical imaging solutions also performed very well in recent KLAS reports, with McKesson's PACS service indicators achieving top overall scores in the KLAS "PACS -- Acute Care 2005 Report." Horizon Medical Imaging earned a No. 1 ranking in the "Community Hospital PACS 2005 Report." Horizon Cardiology™ reporting, which became part of the McKesson line-up last summer with the acquisition of Medcon, Ltd., and its TCS Symphony™ solution, achieved a No. 2 rating in the "Top 20: 2005 Best in KLAS" year-end report. Among respondents, 94% said they'd buy again and would recommend the solution to a friend or peer.

In addition to a strong upward trend in clinical product performance, McKesson received strong customer satisfaction marks in the fast-growing community sector representing smaller hospitals. Its Paragon™ hospital information system, along with Horizon Meds Manager ™ and Horizon Lab™, all moved into the top three for their areas in the community market. Together with top-ranked Horizon Medical Imaging™, the performance of these solutions underscores McKesson's compelling answer for smaller hospitals seeking to develop electronic health records.

KLAS Enterprises annual rankings are based on interviews with healthcare executives, professionals and clinicians at more than 4,500 acute-care facilities and large clinics and integrated delivery networks.
