ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Lawson Software (Nasdaq:LWSN) today announced that Albert Einstein Healthcare Network selected Lawson's Financials, Human Resources and Supply Chain Management for Healthcare suites to facilitate growth and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of its core business operations. Einstein licensed the applications in Lawson's second quarter, which ended Nov. 30, 2005.
Providing healthcare services to the greater Philadelphia region, Einstein is a private, not-for-profit organization with six major facilities and a number of outpatient and satellite locations. Einstein employs 6,000 individuals and has 1,201 licensed beds.
Moving from a combination of many disparate homegrown and legacy business applications to Lawson's ERP suite will aid Einstein in consolidating its three major functional areas - financials, human resources and materials management - and improve operational efficiency. By standardizing and automating core business processes, the system will offer Einstein more visibility into and control of its business, with easy access to critical information, such as financial and inventory data. As a result, the healthcare provider aims to improve its margins.
"Our growing business requires us to provide efficient, best practice services to our patients," said Ken Levitan, chief information officer, Albert Einstein Healthcare Network. "Lawson's proven leadership in supporting healthcare organizations like ours gives us the confidence that we will achieve our goal of becoming an industry-leading example in employee relations and patient care."
Lawson's products will allow Einstein to reduce inventory costs, decrease monthly close-cycle times and be more responsive when hiring and evaluating staff. For example, by standardizing buying processes with Lawson's Web-based self-service tools, Einstein will be able to more effectively manage and maintain its inventory levels across multiple facilities.
Moreover, Lawson's Human Resources suite will allow Einstein to provide better HR service to its staff and potential employees. With the Employee and Manager Self-Service application, employees can conduct routine HR business electronically, freeing staff for more strategic work. In addition, e-Recruiting, a Web-based recruitment management system, will expedite Einstein's hiring process, allowing the healthcare provider to identify and hire top talent faster.
"Lawson's products help healthcare organizations improve their margins and support their missions by facilitating significant operational improvements" said Stacey Hicks, industry marketing director - Healthcare, Lawson Software. "Our market leadership and proven ability to assist healthcare organizations in achieving their business objectives are why organizations like Einstein continue to select Lawson."
Lawson serves more than 500 healthcare industry clients representing more than 4,500 facilities, including eight of the top 10 integrated delivery networks. The company also serves managed care systems, academic medical centers, hospitals, clinics, physician group practices, home healthcare, long-term care and other health services enterprises. Lawson solutions help healthcare organizations manage their business so they can focus on their patients, automate and streamline materials management for a better bottom line, and overcome the challenges of the labor shortage.
