Lexi-Comp(R) Partners with Cerner

Integrated content and enhanced solutions delivered at the point-of-care
HUDSON, Ohio -- Bringing together the leader in healthcare information technology with the leading provider of medical information and clinical content, Cerner Corp. and Lexi-Comp, Inc. have signed a multi-year licensing and reselling agreement that will provide Cerner customers with access to Lexi-Comp's recognized content and product applications. This relationship will provide physicians, nurses and pharmacists with access to Lexi-Comp clinical content integrated into clinicians' workflow through multiple Cerner Millennium(R) modules. In addition, Cerner clients will have the opportunity to purchase the following Lexi-Comp clinical reference applications: Lexi-Comp(R) ONLINE(TM), ON-HAND(TM), ON-WEB(TM), ON-DESKTOP(TM), and the Lexi-Comp(R) Knowledge Solution(TM).

"We are excited to begin this new relationship with Cerner," said Steven Kerscher, president and COO of Lexi-Comp. "By integrating Lexi-Comp's content within Cerner's systems, clinicians will have expanded access to point-of- care, medication-focused decision support content via one solution with the appropriate depth and breadth of information necessary to optimize patient care decisions."

The agreement facilitates the integration of Lexi-Comp's pediatric dosage information, including minimum and maximum dosing guidelines and medication order sets, into Cerner's PharmNet(R), Easy Script(R) and Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) module systems.

Cerner clients will now be able to add other Lexi-Comp datasets within the healthcare IT leader's Executable Knowledge(R) solutions, including Anesthesiology and Critical Care, Geriatrics, Infectious Diseases, Laboratory Medicine and Pharmacogenomics content areas. In addition, clients will also have the option to access Lexi-Comp's patient education materials.

This synergy between Lexi-Comp and Cerner harnesses both organizations' commitment to deliver practical solutions at the point-of-care. Each partner understands the importance of both reference-based applications and data- driven knowledge solutions integrated into hospital systems that utilize decision support alerts.

"This partnership brings increased safety to patients at the point-of- care," said Mike Schmitt, R.Ph., director of Cerner's Knowledge and Discovery Group. "By integrating content into a clinician's workflow, caregivers are able to make informed decisions."
