SAN DIEGO, HIMSS 2006 -- Meru Networks, the global leader in wireless VoIP infrastructure, today announced that it is providing the wireless LAN infrastructure for this year's Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) Interoperability Showcase at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Conference and Exhibition, February 12-16, 2006, in San Diego, California.
HIMSS is one of the world's largest healthcare IT conferences, attended by more than 20,000 healthcare professionals and approximately 700 exhibitors each year. The conference offers 200+ educational sessions, interactive workshops and roundtable discussions.
Using Meru's WLAN System, iNOC -- the organization that designs, implements and supports the IHE wireless network -- can allow the Showcase attendees and exhibitors to securely access the Internet, email, online conference information and other wireless services. Meru's WLAN controller and dual-mode access points will be deployed in the IHE area, to deliver these services.
"We used Meru's Wireless LAN System to deliver services to the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) conference last year and were extremely pleased with its ability to offer pervasive coverage with consistently excellent quality in a high density conference setting," said Rick Smith, Vice President of Services, iNOC. "Meru was an obvious choice to deliver services to IHE attendees and exhibitors this year."
"Meru's WLAN System uniquely addresses the challenges of delivering voice and data services in challenging environments," said Joel Vincent, director of marketing for Meru Networks. "We're excited to work with iNOC again on one of the healthcare industry's largest events and to showcase, here at the conference, the same technology that many healthcare customers use in their own deployments."
