RALEIGH, N.C. -- Misys Healthcare Systems, a market leader in healthcare IT, today announced it has partnered with InstantDx(TM), a pioneer in electronic prescribing, to provide a convenient and secure way to write electronic prescriptions using Internet-connected devices. This partnership provides physicians with a Web-based e-Prescribing offering. The OnCallData(TM) product enables providers to write legible prescriptions and approve refills securely and electronically to all pharmacies in seconds, saving up to three hours a day for practices and their staff. With this new partnership, physicians can rapidly check drug-to-drug interactions, drug-to-allergy interactions, patient eligibility, formulary information, and medication history using any personal or handheld computers.
"What makes Misys Healthcare Systems truly unique is its long-standing relationships with physicians throughout Western Pennsylvania and with over 92,000 physicians throughout the rest of the United States. By partnering with Misys, InstantDx is able to extend the reach of OnCallData(TM) and provide physicians with a long-term interoperable system for electronic prescribing," said Dr. Allan Weinstein, Chairman and CEO of InstantDx. "The synergies between Misys and InstantDx make it easy for us to offer physicians in Western Pennsylvania a targeted solution that puts real-time, evidence-based drug information at their fingertips, thus reducing medical errors and improving patient care."
In addition to the Web-based OnCallData solution, Misys Healthcare Systems also offers an e-prescribing option through Misys EMR(R) 8.0, its specialty-focused electronic medical records system which connects and automates physician offices. This latest EMR offering includes a fully integrated e-prescribing solution that electronically routes prescriptions to participating pharmacies.
"OnCallData, InstantDx's e-prescribing offering, has already achieved tremendous success in the marketplace, so we look forward to continuing our long-standing relationship with this well-known and respected company by offering their solution to our physicians," said Tyler Patterson, vice president of product management for Misys Healthcare Systems. "Through this partnership, Misys Healthcare Systems will offer another option to selected markets to support physicians who are eager to adopt e-prescribing tools but who may not be ready to implement a fully integrated EMR solution."
