Belfast, ME (PRWeb) April 13, 2007 -- The Ratings Guy today announces the 2007 Call for Entries for its exclusive Great Health websites and Benchmark Network. Google search results produce over one billion page results for t he Health category, invoking congestion and confusion for consumer driven health care. Consumers are entitled to better access to health resources with a personal touch.
The greatest websites for consumers are often lost among the plethora of scientific and medical references now available on the Web. Consumers are increasingly being held accountable for their own health care decisions and doctors are increasingly bein g pressured to reduce costs, placing pressure on the time doctors have to help patients. Large employers are directing employees to third party resources to deal with changing benefits and reduced levels of coverage.
Who are these websites? Where can they be found? What credentials do they have? Do they meet the standards for quality, trust and reputation?
On June 15, 2007, The Ratings Guy will recognize Great Sites in several new health and wellness categories, to help consumers find the better sites sooner. Nominations and submissions for sites for new consumer driven health categories are being accept ed through May 15, 2007.
Suggestions by consumers and applications by website operators can be made on-line at http://www.theratingsguy.com. Awards will be presented at the Health Content '07 Conference on September 24, 2007, in Philadelphia.
The new list of Great Health Sites is part of The Ratings Guy initiative to help consumers find the better site sooner and help websites differentiate their offering. Selected websites can join The Benchmark Network and be recognized by The Ratings Guy Great Site seal. The seal is the result of a successful site evaluation by independent and objective researchers who recognize websites that excel in providing consumers with high quality, trusted, and experienced resources. Less than 3% of Web sites make the grade for Great Site status. Access to the complete listing of Great Site reviews is free and is found with all lifestyle categories at The Ratings Guy.
"I want to see a trusted evaluation about health resources; to know the quality of the content, to have a community where I can share and learn, and to see interactive resources that not only educate me but provide solutions for my everyday health management," said John Morrow, co-founder. "Health care is rightfully being turned on its head, and although there is plenty of data, there is not enough practical information for consumers to act upon. Where are the practical solutions that help me negotiate for services, handle my co-payment and voluntary account funding, maintain my tax deductible financial and medical records, comparative shop for health products and services, get warranties for care and guaranteed levels of service? Ev ery consumer is entitled to the same personalized, market-driven conveniences provided across all other industries, where are they in health?" questioned Morrow. "Web site operators with comprehensive solutions should suggest thei The Ratings Guy was developed by a team experienced in the consumer research and ratings field and frustrated with the search industry's inability to separate advertising from editorial.
