Piedmont and Piedmont Fayette Hospitals Add Self-Scheduling for Nurses with RES-Q® Labor Resource Management |

Calabasas, Calif. -- RES-Q® Healthcare Systems announced that Piedmont Hospital, Buckhead, Ga., and Piedmont Fayette Hospital, Fayetteville, Ga., are implementing the optional Self-scheduling Module with the RES-Q® Labor Resource Management system. "Adding self-scheduling to our implementation of RES-Q Labor Resource Management is critical to our efforts to advance flexible staffing," said Barry Hawthorne, R.N., M.S.N., C.N.A.A., vice president, patient care s ervices and chief nursing officer, Piedmont Hospital. "Self-scheduling helps us ensure right-sized staffing that is clinically appropriate, cost-effective and responsive to nurses' shift preferences."
RES-Q Labor Resource Management is a Windows-based, Web-enabled system for enterprise staffing and scheduling. It produces clinically sound, skill-matched and financially sensible staffing in efficient schedules. With the optional Self-scheduling Module , employees can log on and view their departments' schedules and select their own shifts or propose exchanging shifts with colleagues. The department manager logs on to the management view in the module to review and approve shift requests and fina lize schedules. E-mail messages are then automatically formatted and sent to employees' work and home e-mail addresses with their schedules.
Piedmont Hospital is a 458-bed acute tertiary care facility in the northern Atlanta community of Buckhead. Piedmont Fayette Hospital is a 106-bed acute care community hospital in Fayetteville, Ga. The hospitals have used RES-Q Labor Resource Management to manage staffing and scheduling since 1989. Piedmont Hospital and Piedmont Fayette Hospital are part of Piedmont Healthcare, a not-for-profit organization, that also includes Piedmont Mountainside Hospital (PMH), a 35-bed community hospital in Jasper, Ga.; Piedmont Newnan Hospital, a 143-bed acute care facility in Newnan, Ga.; the Piedmont Hospital Foundation; Piedmont Physicians Group, with more than 75 primary care physicians in 21 offices throughout metro Atlanta; and the Piedmont Clinic, a 524-m ember physician network.
