Greater Rochester IPA Deploys DocSite for Clinical Integration and Point-of-Care Decision Support |
| Registry takes key place in clinical integration process, offering point-of-care decision support, guideline management and community connectivity. |
Raleigh, NC -- DocSite (www.docsite.com) announces implementation of its DocSite Registry and Portal for Clinical Integration at the Greater Rochester IPA (GRIPA). GRIPA will use DocSite's point-of-care guideline improvement workflow in both paper-based and electronic offices along with DocSite's interface and clinical warehouse capabilities for its GRIPA Connect Clinical Integration Strategy. GRIPA represents an emerging trend of customers who recognize the need for web systems that work in physician office clinical workflow as part of their clinical integration and connectivity strategy as technology alone is not enough according to John Haughton MD, MS CE O of DocSite.
GRIPA leads the country in practical and effective clinical integration, offering excellent high quality care in a coordinated fashion throughout its hundreds of physicians. GRIPA continues to work on clinical, technical, legal, and financial fronts to improve the quality of healthcare offered by its physicians for their patients. Adoption of the proven DocSite software provides a key element in GRIPA's pursuit of clinical integration.
"Simply moving data from one system to another doesn't by itself improve care. Giving physicians the ability to see results specific to the patient in the context of relevant guidelines offers the care improvement opportunity," stated GR IPA Chief Medical Officer, Eric Nielsen, MD. "DocSite integrates raw data, patient needs and guidelines to create a straight-forward patient-specific view of alerts and needs that should optimize both the quality and cost of care delivered within G RIPA."
At the heart of the effort is DocSite Connect, a rules-driven clinical guideline system and patient data warehouse. The GRIPA project relies on the combination of the warehouse, interfaces and DocSite Registry - a point-of-care decision support and gui deline management application for the paper-based or EMR enabled physician. Together, the systems enhance existing GRIPA information technology to improve day to day workflow necessary for effective clinical integration across the majority of physician s and the majority of patients.
"Working with a clinically savvy and care-focused technology vendor has simplified my integration tasks and accelerated our deployment activities at GRIPA, we are very happy we chose DocSite as a clinical integration technology partner" commen ted Victoria Viglucci, CIO for GRIPA and thought leader on Clinical Integration technology.
Offering guidelines within the point-of-care workflow improves care delivery by physicians. Offering clinical oversight committees an effective means to organize and maintain guidelines simplifies clinical leadership. Offering the IPA ongoing views of care delivery performance across the majority of patients and physicians, makes continuous quality improvement a reality.
"Clinical Integration is our most important organizational imperative right now", stated Gregg Coughlin, GRIPA's president and CEO. "We selected DocSite because they have deep clinical, technology and point-of-care workflow expertise and they're effective partners, working with us and the market at large to improve healthcare."
"GRIPA Connect and clinical integration programs in general provide a chance for real improvements in healthcare delivery. We're excited to partner with GRIPA on this initiative", shared John Haughton MD, MS. "We are proud to be an integral part of the program."
GRIPA is a partnership of physicians and hospitals in Monroe, Wayne, and Ontario Counties of the Greater Rochester region, including 410 private physicians and 160 employed physicians, as well as the Rochester General Hospital, Rochester General Physici ans Organization, Newark Wayne Community Hospital, and the Wayne County Physicians Organization.
