Sanford and EnovateIT Partner to Implement Point-of-Care Carts and Articulating Arms

Superior Hardware Selection Enhances Electronic Patient Record Implementation
Troy, MI -- Sanford Health, a nationally recognized integrated health system serving the greater Sioux Falls, SD area, and EnovateIT, the leading point-of-care hardware integrator, partnered to roll-out carts and arms as part of an electronic patient record implementation.

EnovateIT provided the mounting solution expertise which included on-site assessments and product demonstrations which allowed staff to try recommended options before purchasing them. This knowledgeable service permitted Sanford to focus on the software implementation and training.

According to Wendy Kuehl, Technical Project Manager with Sanford IT, "EnovateIT's knowledge of point-of-care products and their solution-based approach made the software implementation go more smoothly. We were able to keep on schedule and not delay the roll-out because of hardware issues."

Dean Becker, EnovateIT Regional Account Manager, stated that "Electronic patient record implementation can be sidetracked by point-of-care hardware selection and delay the process. Our goal was to provide Sanford with the carts and wall mount arm s olutions that met their specific needs at the patients' bedside - and keep the project on track."

The ergonomic adjustment features of the laptop carts and the monitor and keyboard arm promotes more comfortable computing and increased clinician / patient interaction at the point of care. Clinicians are able to lower and raise the height of the cart - as well as the monitor and keyboard arms - to meet their individual preferences.

Deb Molstad, Clinical Informatics Analyst with Sanford emphasized, "The software implementation remained our center of attention because we were confident that EnovateIT would recommend and deliver point-of-care mounting solutions for our facilitie s that were ergonomic and met the needs of our clinical staff."
