South Texas Total Eyecare Selects Plexis Healthcare System's BPO Solution

Plexis BPO reduces administrative costs and increases claims processing productivity.
Ashland, OR -- Plexis Healthcare Systems, Inc. announced that it has signed a BPO (business processing outsourcing) agreement with South Texas Total Eye Care ("STTEC"), of San Antonio, TX. STTEC is a physician-own ed IPA providing eye care for over 13,000 members. The agreement represents a move by STTEC from internal manual processing of claims to fully outsourced automated claims management supported by Plexis' proprietary PCM (Plexis Claims Manager) techn ology. STTEC's outsource strategy will increase productivity and reduce administrative costs through efficient, rapid deployment of process claims loads.

Plexis Healthcare BPO, introduced in the summer of 2007, provides outsourced business processing and optimization services that reduce inefficiencies, control operating costs and free up internal resources to focus on strategic outcomes. Service offerin gs include claims conversion and processing, optimization, EDI and database administration, analytics and reporting, premium billing, eligibility management, and quality checks and balances. Flexible BPO options enable healthcare payer customers, includ ing TPAs, IPAs, managed care organizations, PPOs and self-insured organizations to avoid capital purchases, staffing increases, and lengthy implementation associated with claims processing system installation. BPO customers typically can be fully transi tioned and operational within 60 days.

"As a relatively small health care group looking to increase claims management efficiency and cost effectiveness, we were challenged with finding a solution provider that would meet our limited needs and budget," Said Albert Castillo of STTEC. "Of 5 vendors interviewed, only Plexis stepped up to the plate with an innovative proposal of flexible BPO solutions - a customized package including just the specific services we require made affordable and attainable. We certainly appreciate th e hard work and the assurance that Plexis' deep expertise and experience with claims adjudication, eligibility management and EDI processing is on our team."

"Plexis Healthcare Systems is continually challenged to develop products and services that provide substantial benefits to our existing and prospective clients," said Plexis President and CEO Jorge Yant. "The introduction of Plexis Health care BPO represents a commitment of innovation and service affording our clients new strategic options for increased operational standards, growth-supportive efficiencies and faster ROI regardless of the organization's size," added Yant.
