Wellsoft EDIS Support of Interoperability & Adoption of Standards

Wellsoft Corporation has participated in the Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology’s (CCHIT®) Pilot Study, designed to gauge the testability of CCHIT’s Emergency Department EHR 08 certification criteria and demonstrate the effectiveness of its process.
Somerset, New Jersey –– Wellsoft Corporation has participated in the Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology’s (CCHIT®) Pilot Study, designed to gauge the testability of CCHIT’s Emergency Department EHR 08 certification criteria and demonstrate the effectiveness of its process.

Wellsoft Emergency Department Information System (EDIS) is a comprehensive system with core functions that include patient tracking, clinical documentation, image capture, order management, medication management, and discharge planning and reporting. As part of the solution, Wellsoft creates an E H R for the emergency department patient visit.

Wellsoft is currently working to provide the specific Emergency Department patient content and EDIS functionality to support the evolving standards for a more universal Continuity of Care Record (CCR) and Continuity of Care Document (CCD) under the HL7 Clinical Document Architecture (CDA).

“Wellsoft recognizes that the use of industry approved standards is the most efficient, reliable, and cost effective method to exchange clinical data,” says Wellsoft President John Santmann, MD. “A large part of the Wellsoft Corporation’s mission is to actively participate in healthcare technology standards groups in order to advocate the unique needs of emergency medicine.”

Wellsoft Corporation has extensive experience with interoperability, systems integration with established interfaces, industry standard platforms, open architecture, and web services and HL7 compliance. Incorporating these standards into the Wellsoft EDIS application promotes patient safety and enhances patient care while reducing costs. Bringing together data from multiple different sources to create meaningful clinical information requires Wellsoft’s unique combination of healthcare knowledge, analytic ability and technical competence.

Senior Wellsoft Corporation leadership is actively involved in the Technical Working Groups and Clinical Working Groups of HL7, IHE, CCHIT, HITSP, EIA, ACEP and ENA. Wellsoft is currently working to provide the specific Emergency Department patient content and EDIS functionality to support the evolving standards for a more universal Continuity of Care Record (CCR) and Continuity of Care Document (CCD) under the HL7 Clinical Document Architecture (CDA).
