NextGen Healthcare Expands Its Relationship With Banner Health

Large non-profit health system executes one of the largest agreements in NextGen Healthcare’s history
HORSHAM, Pa. -- NextGen Healthcare Information Systems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Quality Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: QSII) and a leading provider of ambulatory healthcare information systems and connectivity solutions, today announced that Phoenix, Az.-based Banner Health, one of the largest non-profit health systems in the country, has purchased a significant number of licenses for NextGen® EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and NextGen EPM (Enterprise Practice Management) software. Banner Health has been a NextGen Healthcare client for approximately four years, and this purchase marks the next phase in its long-term ambulatory physician strategy.

“Banner has purchased these licenses as it continues to strengthen its physician infrastructure and recruit more physicians within our health system,” says Brian S. Underwood, vice president, Physician Resources for Banner Health. “Our partnership with NextGen Healthcare is critical to providing excellent patient care and exceeding the expectations of the people we serve.”

Banner Health has 20 hospitals in seven western states, and provides hospital care, home care, hospice care, long-term care, nursing registries, surgery centers, laboratories and rehabilitation services. The new NextGen software licenses will be offered to a number of existing physicians.

“We applaud Banner Health’s use of technology to take their ambulatory physician strategy to the next level,” said Patrick Cline, president of NextGen Healthcare. “NextGen Healthcare remains committed to working with Banner Health and to helping them achieve their goals.”
