MEDecision’s Alineo Continues Market Momentum with Selection by DC Chartered Health Plan, Inc. |
| Medicaid Provider Will Utilize Collaborative Health Care. Management Solution to Administer Care for 75,000 Members
|
WAYNE, Pa. -- MEDecision, Inc. (Nasdaq: MEDE), a leading provider of collaborative health care management solutions, today announced that it will deliver its Alineo™ Collaborative Health Care Management technology to DC Chartered Health Plan, Inc. (Chartered), a Washington, D.C. Medicaid provider with more than 75,000 members.
Chartered plans to use Alineo to meet certain disease management requirements set forth in its recently-renewed Medicaid contract, particularly National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) and Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) accreditations. Alineo’s flexibility will enable the insurer to begin working with the technology immediately with the goal of having it fully implemented by the end of the year. MEDecision will host the solution as an Internet service provider (ISP).
“This deal underscores the tremendous momentum Alineo has enjoyed in the marketplace since its release earlier this year, and is a strong validation of our vision for the future of health information technology,” said MEDecision Founder and CEO David St.Clair. “Alineo is an ideal solution for Chartered’s needs and we’re confident they’ll see the benefits of its simplified, smart and state-of-the art technology in short order.”
Alineo is a collaborative health care management platform for addressing case management, disease management and utilization management. Through an innovative member-centric approach, it analyzes, applies and automates payer-driven best practices. Alineo enables health plans to streamline operational efficiencies, reduce waste and increase care quality by helping them enhance business agility, control costs and optimally manage risk and compliance.
“We were very impressed by the breadth and depth of Alineo’s clinical intelligence and care management capabilities, which were crucial components for us in our evaluation of competing technologies,” said Lavdena Adams Orr, M.D., FAAP, Chartered’s chief medical officer. “It is a robust solution that we can implement relatively quickly. It will enable us to function more efficiently from an organizational standpoint, and help streamline our NCQA and HEDIS compliance, which is a very important component of our overall operations.”
