MediNotes Announces Latest Upgrade of MediNotes Clinician |
| Integrated EHR / PM gains interface, billing and encounter note enhancements to improve efficiency of clinical and administrative processes at physician offices |
WEST DES MOINES, Iowa -- MediNotes Corporation, a market leader in electronic health records (EHRs) with more than 23,000 users nationwide, announced the immediate availability of MediNotes Clinician™ Summer Release 2008, the newest upgrade for the company's award-winning, .Net-based, integrated electronic health record (EHR) and practice management (PM) solution.
“MediNotes’ success is built upon our commitment to address critical needs within physician group practices through enhanced functionality of MediNotes products,” said MediNotes’ CEO and President, Donald Schoen. “Our latest MediNotes Clinician release enables physicians to better manage their clinical and financial workflows, resulting in improved delivery of patient care and revenue flow.”
Enhancements to MediNotes Clinician, which offers e-prescribing, patient portals, patient kiosks, image management, Web portal and more, include:
* Interface between MediNotes Clinician PM and MediNotes e, a best-of-breed interoperable EHR for small practices, provide an administrative/financial solution via practice management functionality to current and new MediNotes e customers. * Notes enhancements enable the ease of template building according to discipline-specific workflows without compromising adherence to insurance and regulatory guidelines. * Claims enhancements strengthen the existing audit trail and ensure timely reimbursements by automatically alerting users to items that may need immediate attention. * Eligibility enhancements reduce the potential for denied claims by supporting transactions based on the newly required National Provider Identifier (NPI) number. * New payments applications streamline data entry and provide detailed accounting of all financial transactions. * Laboratory order enhancements comply with the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA), and make the entry process more efficient by promoting patient safety and minimizing the risk of legal exposure.
Schoen went on to say, “This upgrade expands MediNotes’ presence in the very competitive physician practice management market with a proven solution that not only integrates seamlessly with MediNotes Clinician EHR, but now also complements our formerly stand-alone EHR, MediNotes e. We believe this is a great step forward for our customers and for the company.”
