Eclipsys Announces Strong Demand for Sunrise EPSi Integrated Performance Improvement Solutions

‘Best in KLAS’ Solutions Help Healthcare Organizations Improve Clinical, Financial, and Operational Performance
ATLANTA -- Eclipsys Corporation® (NASDAQ:ECLP), The Outcomes Company®, today announced several new contract agreements for Sunrise EPSi™, the solution set that Eclipsys now markets following its February 2008 acquisition of Enterprise Performance Systems, Inc. (EPSi). Sunrise EPSi is a set of Integrated Performance Improvement (IPI) solutions that go beyond decision support to provide the comprehensive enterprise analytics support healthcare organizations need to take control of their financial, clinical and operational performance.

Among the organizations that have recently contracted for Eclipsys’ Sunrise EPSi solution are: Providence Health & Services (California Region); Hennepin County Medical Center, Minneapolis, Minn.; St Luke’s Hospital, Maumee, Ohio; Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian, Newport Beach, Calif.; Kaleida Health, Buffalo, NY; and Orlando Health, Orlando, Fla. These new contract wins represent competitive replacements of existing systems, new client wins, and sales into existing clients.

“Sunrise EPSi provides an easy to use solution that enables our organization to leverage data across functional areas to give us the information we need for reliable decision-making to help improve organizational efficiency and enable accountability,” said Bob Miles, Orlando Health’s vice president, Financial Planning. “With Sunrise EPSi, everyone from senior management to departmental managers will have easy access to actionable data to help them better run their business.”

The integrated database feature of Sunrise EPSi is what gives it a step up from traditional decision support tools, enabling hospitals to leverage data across all functional areas - budgeting/planning, cost accounting, patient financial/clinical analysis and productivity. The single data model platform delivers comprehensive, enterprise-wide performance measurement.

“The EPSi acquisition has been a huge success for Eclipsys, as evidenced by our ability to win such a significant number of new clients shortly following the acquisition,” said R. Andrew Eckert, Eclipsys president and chief executive officer. “It’s clear that Eclipsys’ broader sales reach has provided market momentum for this innovative, in-demand solution. The provider market needs solutions that help them address the core challenges of providing key decision makers with vital, rolled up data extracted from complex care delivery environments, which is exactly what Sunrise EPSi delivers. We look forward to working with all of our new clients to help drive performance improvements across their organizations.”
